From the Miguel Prieto Collection

Coolest Selection proudly presents two remarkable vehicles from the collection of Miguel Prieto, an iconic rally raid driver and veteran of the Dakar Rally. Prieto’s storied career includes his celebrated 2nd place overall in the 1999 Dakar Rally, marking the highest finish for a Spanish driver at the time. Throughout his career, Prieto was closely connected to Mitsubishi’s official team, driving their rugged Pajero/Montero models and contributing to the brand’s legendary Dakar legacy.

Prieto’s commitment to rallying excellence led him to establish his own racing team, competing in some of the most grueling stages of the Dakar. His vehicles—meticulously maintained and rally-proven—were integral to his team’s success, supporting their efforts until the 2008 Lisbon-Dakar Rally, which was canceled for security reasons.

Miguel Prieto's Team at the Dakar 2006

Initially built for Mitsubishi’s official rally team by RalliArt-Sonauto, this Mercedes 2636 6x6 truck served as a mobile workshop, designed for the harshest rally conditions. With a 10-cylinder, 18300 cc engine and reinforced features like dual fuel tanks, onboard compressors, and heavy-duty lighting, it’s ideal for support in Rally Raid races or Dakar Classic. Used by Prieto’s team up to the Lisbon-Dakar, it’s in excellent working condition and ready for new adventures.

This Mercedes Unimog U500, built to Dakar specifications, showcases very low mileage and exceptional off-road capabilities. Powered by a 370 HP, 6-cylinder engine, it boasts dual axle locking differentials, a semi-automatic 16-speed gearbox, and advanced suspension for rugged terrain. The Unimog remains in pristine condition, making it an outstanding candidate for rally support or serious collectors.

These vehicles are more than just support trucks; they’re part of Miguel Prieto’s rally legacy and represent a rare opportunity to acquire rally-proven vehicles. Contact us to learn more or arrange a viewing.
